Allen-Edmonds dates back to 1922, when this men's shoe company was established in the small town of Belgium, Wisconsin. Today, the company still has its headquarters in the state where it was founded. Throughout its history, Allen-Edmonds has achieved success by continually evolving without ever losing sight of important traditions.
Although this company made it successfully through the Great Depression by bringing their shoes to the consumer nationwide, their first big break came when the U.S. Military awarded contracts to Allen-Edmonds to provide footwear for American soldiers during World War II. Thousands of enlisted men who appreciated the comfort, style and fit of Allen-Edmonds shoes during the war became lifelong customers when they returned to civilian life.
Throughout the twentieth century, Allen-Edmonds customers stayed loyal to this company despite foreign competition. In turn, this company began to focus on developing foreign markets. This company was looking forward to a bright future when, on a cold January night in 1984, a fire destroyed the original factory in Belgium, Wisconsin. A new factory and headquarters was built in Port Washington.
The company expanded, and with the purchase of Maine Shoe, the company's product line expanded to include quality handsewn footwear. A new division called Woodlore was created to produce cedar shoe trees and closet accessories. At Allen-Edmonds, we still consider shoemaking an art form. We carefully craft each pair by hand in a process that includes 212 separate production steps. No detail is too small, because supreme quality is the cornerstone of the Allen-Edmonds name.
As manufacturers of premium men's footwear, accessories and cedar products, Allen-Edmonds' number one priority is to deliver exceptional value to their customers every day. After all, we know our customers are the reason we exist. They are committed to quality, service and integrity. These three words make up their motto and provide the roadmap to guide all of their decisions.

Review:
I'm a sucker for tassles, and these driving mocassins are super flexible and soft. I would recommend them to anyone who likes a European flair with their suits, as these shoes look good enough for formal wear, but wear like casual shoes.
