Bass shoe company began in 1876, when George Henry Bass purchased a share in E.P. Packard and Co., a shoe manufacturer in Maine. Three years later, he became the sole owner, changing the company name to G.H. Bass & Co. The company took off in 1927 when Charles Lindbergh wore a pair of Bass Aviation Moccasins on his historic flight from New York to Paris.
The Weejun look began in 1936, when the company found a unique shoe in Norway. After obtaining permission, Bass interpreted the shoe with the signature Bass look, and a new trend was born. In 1968, Bass entered the retail outlet business when they acquired Burgess Shoe Stores. Renamed Bass Factory Outlets, the stores now number 230 and growing.
While Bass shoes are known for their comfort and casual elegance, this company also has worked closely with other designers for their sportswear clothing lines, such as IZOD, Calvin Klein and the Van Heusen brands. Recently, the Arrow brand was purchased with a full license to that brand in the U.S.
Bass is a leading provider of casual and dress footwear for men, women and children. Phillips-Van Heusen licenses the Bass brand to Harbor Footwear Group, LTD for wholesale distribution on a worldwide basis. Harbor Footwear Group, LTS, a leader in footwear marketing, is a company that has both the size and expertise to grow the Bass and G.H. Bass & Co. business. You can continue to enjoy the Bass look, feel, and comfort with their dockers, slip-ons, sandals and moccasins for a long, long time.

Review:
I don't know how fashionalbe these shoes are, and I haven't gotten any compliments. But, I can stand all day on these Bass Alex soles without any foot or leg aches. No rubbing even with light sox.
