Overview of the Lacoste Shoe Company and Lacoste Shoe Reviews

Lacoste is a legend, with origins from 1921 when Rene Lacoste and his teammates stole the tennis world's Davis Cup away from the Americans for the first time. But, the legend goes further, with the iconic "Crocodile" emblem that graced Lacoste clothing for decades. In 1933, Lacoste and Andre Gillier, the owner of the largest French knitwear manufacturing firm from that time, set up a company to manufacture the Crocodile-logo embroidered shirt. The rest was history.

In 1985, Lacoste produced a new line of tennis shoes, manufactured in France and following a deck shoe design from 1986 with walking shoe comfort. Today, Lacoste shoes for men, women and children are renowned for luxury and classic styling. The brand continues to appeal to the fashion-forward young consumer with modern designs, colors and classic shapes that distinguish Lacoste from any other footwear.

More recently, Lacoste's popularity has surged due to French designer Christophe Lemaire's efforts to create a more modern, upscale look. In 2005, almost fifty million Lacoste products sold in over one hundred and ten countries. Its visibility increased when contracts between Lacoste and several young tennis players, including American tennis star Andy Roddick and French rising young prospect Richard Gasquet were forged. Lacoste has also begun to increase its presence in the golf world, where noted two-time Master champion, José María Olazábal and Scottish golfer Colin Montgomerie began to sport Lacoste shirts in tournaments.

Lacoste uses only high quality materials in the manufacturing of their footwear. All Lacoste products go through extensive fit and wear trials to ensure the comfort of their shoes. And, while Lacoste shoes are distinctive and easily identifiable, they also are almost indestructible. This is a great shoe for active people, who can wear Lacoste with confidence, comfort and style.

Review:
This is my first time to own a Lacoste shoes, I have always worn outdoor rugged hiking shoes, for comfort and reliability on the field. However, my son had worn a quite number of Lacoste shoes, since he was teen. In my case, when I saw the Brown Lacoste Reijo E shoes in a store here in Manila, just recently, I immediately like it. The sales clerk told me, they are 2009 model. It's comfortable and true to size and the styling is exceptional. I plan to get another pair of the same style in the future, of course in another color.
