Saucony Shoes, Sneakers, and Running Shoes

Founded in 1898, Saucony traces its early roots to the banks of the Saucony Creek in Kutztown, Pennsylvania. Native American inhabitants of the area coined the Saucony name which translated means "mouth of a creek or river." In 1906, the Saucony Shoe Manufacturing Company built its first factory, a solid brick two-story construction along the Saucony Creek. Today, the Saucony logo represents the endless flow of that waterway, along with its boulder-strewn creek bed, depicted by the three distinct dots within the brand’s "river" mark.

In 1910, the Saucony Shoe Manufacturing Company was turning out 800 pairs of shoes daily, specializing in children's shoes as well as functional adult footwear. By 1968, the Saucony Shoe Manufacturing Company was producing running shoes. In 1985, as the brand continued to grow, it moved its headquarters to Peabody, MA, until 2005, when it was acquired by The Stride Rite Corporation of Lexington, MA.

Technology included in each shoe includes everything it takes to make it easier to run. Although this sounds simple, the technology is intricate. Saucony focuses on the premise of intuitive design, that with less, you will get more: speed; efficiency; cushioning; and comfort.
